As we know, Fighter is a YRF spy universe segment in which Hrithik Roshan played the character of Squadron Leader Shamsher Pathania, aka "Patty." This movie has the theme of the Indian Air Force.
After some time has passed in the film, you start remembering Top Gun Maverik. For those who do not know about Top Gun Maverick, let us tell you that Top Gun Maverick is a Hollywood movie. In which Tom Cruise has played the lead role. This movie is exciting but nothing new for those who have seen Top Gun Maverick, but if you have not watched Top Gun Maverick, then this movie will engage you till the end.
The movie's plot is the same as in The Top Gun Maverick, where Maverick is known for his excellent job. He is the best fighter pilot in his squad. While watching this movie in the cinema, we would wonder to ourselves: Are we watching Fighter or an Indian version of Top Gun Maverick?
Let us explain why we are referring to the Indian version of Top Gun Maverick. Maverick is the best fighter in his squad, and so is Patty. Both Maverick and Patty are known for their courage and bravery. Because of their courage and bravery, they make mistakes too, and both are getting suspended. Maverick has lost his best friend in the battle, whereas Patty has also lost his fiancé.
Both have a similarity: Maverick loses his best friend in the battle, and similarly, Patty loses his fiance. Both suffer from the same pain, which is the fear of losing someone.
Returning to the movie, in the YRF segment, Hrithik Roshan has done a great job as a hero, whereas the villain will disappoint you. We would actually feel the cruelty in the way he played the character. In our opinion, both characters did a great job.
As we know, it is an Indian movie, and Indian movies do not come without masala. When we say masala, it means romance. The romance between Hrithik and Deepika can be avoidable, and if YRF claims that it is the YRF Spy universe, then we do not understand why they cast Deepika Padukone because she has already played the important character in Pathan, and to justify her character, the director decided to add an essence of feminism where a father does not want her daughter to become a pilot or independent woman.
The director can portray her story as that of a middle-class family who has a dream that their daughter will serve the country one day. We didn't understand what the point of representing a father as the villain was. It is a good thing to support the daughter, but it is not relevant to this movie. The best possibility for this character is that they can cast a new or different face so that they can introduce a new chapter in the future. Coming to Karan Singh Grover, the way he works on his physics, he should work on his acting skills also.
The audience will connect to this movie easily because all the incidents they have shown are inspired by real events like the 'Pulwama Attack 'and Indian pilot Abhinandan Chaudhary crashing his jet in Pakistan. Nowadays, most Indian movies are pretty much about patriotism, where everyone tries to sell entertainment in the name of patriotism, and Siddharth Anand has tried very well to do so.
In the end,
the climax is good, and if you are an Indian, you will feel proud when Patty says, “Maalik hum hai.”
